I really like the Giving Tree this time. And I enjoyed your attempt to persuade us that Teddy Bears' Picnic is a Christmas tune, but I can't help but disagree. In the UK (where the lyrics were written) "holiday" means "vacation", and is - or recently was - seldom used for religious festivals, which is what Christmas is. Incidentally, my stage debut was at age 4 with a bunch of other kids, singing and dancing the Teddy Bears' Picnic!
Have a great "Holiday" season, Bill and thank you so much for all this lovely entertainment!
As a former Kindergarten teacher (for most of my 36 years in private and public schools), all three of today's selections resonated with me, Bill. Thanks. I liked the Raffi Cavoukian song best. He is also the performer that I know best, having gone to numerous concerts presented by the man, with my own children and with school groups, as well as having read and deeply valued the book he wrote called "Child Honouring: How to Turn this World Around." Today, I also loved the photo included in your commentary that shows the first bird of this morning's breakfast line at the pine-cone bird feeders. I also know your grandchildren, and am very pleased that they made some feeders of that kind. Best regards to you and yours,
