Thanks, Bill. My favourite today is the very short "Clementsing," which was pleasant to hear and also brings to mind a quirky interest I've had for some time in music that gets presented first in one context and later gets repurposed in a different context. For example, the song "Baubles, Bangles, and Beads" derives from a Borodin string quartet. Similarly, Elvis's "Love Me Tender," is a reincarnation, so to speak, of a popular ballad of the nineteenth century, "Aura Lea." "Clementsing" has at least two cousins in the repurposing-for-Christmas family tree—probably even more. Two pairs with which I am familiar are: "Little Deuce Coupe"/Little Saint Nick," both songs co-written and recorded by members of The Beach Boys in 1963; and "Mr. Sandman"/"Mr. Santa" both of those written by Pat Ballard and recorded by various artists in the 1950s.

My second favourites (tied for the "silver medal") in your set today are "Congratulations (A Happy New Year Song)" and "Soul Christmas," just because they seem so unusual/unique to me.

Cheers,

Greg
